FreshFocus Terms of Service

FreshFocus is an expiry-tracking app for iPhone, provided by Tuan Tran ("we", "us"). By downloading or using FreshFocus, you agree to these Terms of Service and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies to all apps distributed through the App Store. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What FreshFocus Does

FreshFocus helps you keep track of products that have an expiration or use-by date. You can add items manually for free. You can also use "smart scans", an optional feature that sends one or two label photos to our backend, which uses a third-party AI vision service to read the product name and expiration date for you.

Smart Scans

Manual tracking is always free. Smart scans are consumed from a balance tied to your app installation. New installations receive a number of free smart scans to start. A smart scan is only consumed when a usable result is produced; scans are refunded automatically when no date is found or when processing fails. Smart scans do not expire.

Purchases, Billing, and Refunds

Additional smart scans are sold as one-time, consumable in-app purchases in tiers (for example, packs of 15, 50, or 150 scans). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and are subject to Apple's terms and payment policies. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

• Because smart scans are consumable and are delivered immediately, a purchase is generally non-refundable once the scans have been used.
• All refund requests are handled by Apple, not by FreshFocus. You can request a refund through Apple's standard "Report a Problem" process.
• Your smart scan balance is linked to an anonymous installation identifier stored securely on your device. Erasing your device or losing that identifier may result in the loss of any remaining balance. Purchases are not transferable between devices or accounts.

Accuracy Disclaimer — Please Read

Smart scan results are produced by an automated AI vision model and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong. FreshFocus is a convenience and organization tool only. Do not rely on FreshFocus for health, medical, safety, food-safety, or other important decisions. Always check the actual expiration or use-by date printed on the physical product before consuming or using it. You are solely responsible for verifying the information in the app.

Acceptable Use

FreshFocus is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the service, including attempting to obtain free scans fraudulently, interfering with or attacking the backend, reverse engineering the service beyond what the law allows, or using the app in violation of any applicable law. We may limit, suspend, or terminate access that abuses the service.

Disclaimer of Warranties

FreshFocus is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app or smart scans will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FreshFocus and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the app or on smart scan results. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of FreshFocus after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer-protection rights you may have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
