FreshFocus Privacy Policy

FreshFocus helps you track products with expiration or use-by dates. This policy explains what information is handled by the app and by the FreshFocus backend.

Information Stored On Your Device

Items you add manually, saved product names, expiration dates, and saved label photos are stored locally on your device using Apple's app storage systems. FreshFocus does not upload your saved item list just because you use the app.

Smart Scan Processing

When you choose to use a smart scan, FreshFocus uploads the selected label photo or photos to the FreshFocus backend. The backend sends those images to Google's Gemini API to extract a product name and expiration date; Google processes the images as our service provider, subject to Google's applicable terms. FreshFocus does not intentionally retain uploaded label photos after the scan request has been processed.

Smart Scans And Purchases

To support smart scans and in-app purchases, the FreshFocus backend stores an anonymous installation ID, smart scan balances and events, StoreKit transaction IDs, purchased product IDs, and operational logs needed to run and secure the service. This information is used to grant free scans, prevent duplicate purchase redemption, and diagnose service issues.

What FreshFocus Does Not Do

• FreshFocus does not sell your personal information.
• FreshFocus does not use advertising SDKs.
• FreshFocus does not track you across other apps or websites.

Third-Party Services

FreshFocus uses Apple StoreKit for in-app purchases, Vercel to host the backend API, Supabase Postgres for server-side smart scan persistence, and Google's Gemini API for smart scan extraction.
